As well as using the dry powder inhaler correctly, it is necessary to keep it in good condition.

The device must be cleaned:

  • After removing capsules.
  • Once per month at least.

Daily cleaning after use

After administering the daily dose, complete the following steps to keep the device in optimum condition:

  1. Open the mouthpiece.
  2. Remove and dispose of the capsule.
  3. Turn the device upside down.
  4. Tap the base gently to eliminate particles or accumulated dust.
  5. Once you are sure there are no particles left, store the device at room temperature (below 30 ᵒC).
Monthly cleaning

In addition to the daily maintenance, it is necessary to clean the device more thoroughly every month. For this:

  1. Open the lid (protective cap) and the inhaler’s mouthpiece.
  2. Then, press the piercing button to open the base of the device.
  3. Make sure there are no particulars of the capsules or dust in the central chamber. If there are, complete the daily cleaning process to get rid of them.
  4. Wash the device in tepid water while pressing the piercing button continuously. This way you will clean the central chamber and piercing needle.
  5. Make sure there are no particles left in the device.

Once you have cleaned your device, it must be dried, correctly. For this:

  1. Use kitchen roll to absorb any excess water.
  2. Leave it to dry with the protective cap, mouthpiece and base open.
  3. Do not use the device for at least 24 hours.

Things which you must NOT do to your device
  1. Do not use a hairdryer. to dry the device.
  2. Do not use the device until you know that it is completely dry.
  3. Do not use cleaning fluid, detergent or any other similar product to clean it.
  4. Do not put it in the dishwasher..
